Gun control is a tough subject in our country. As much as we would like to, we are not (yet) going to discuss the meaning of the 2nd amendment in our posts on this subject. That is because the “right to carry arms” has been settled for now, whether we agree or not. It has been baked into the American psyche that one has the right to defend oneself, but most Americans agree that something will have to change. All those mass shootings are totally unacceptable and disgusting to the vast majority of us.

There are intense public discussions going on about background checks, about the availability of those military grade guns that can fire hundreds of rounds per minute, and about large capacity magazines.

So, let us look a little deeper into the reasons for this “American carnage” (we know this is not what the former reality show host meant when he used that phrase, but we really are talking about carnage). At the time of writing this, mid March 2023, we are already at well over 110 mass shootings this year.

Some mentally disturbed person was just able to legally buy seven guns, including 2 AR 15s, and went on to kill 3 young kids and 3 staff members at a private Christian school. It is revolting and disgusting, except of course to the fascists, the racists, the Trumpers and the other crazies. If that is you, please seek some help.

In 2022 there were about 393 million privately owned firearms in the US, according to an estimate by the Switzerland-based Small Arms Survey. In other words, 120 guns for every 100 Americans. Frigging ridiculous!

Why do we need that many guns? We are being told we all need a gun to protect ourselves. Therein lies the evil genius of the gun manufacturers and the NRA.

First, they sell guns unrestricted to everyone and their grandmother. Next, they tell us we all need a gun to protect ourselves from all those people with guns! Think about the ridiculousness of that.

Then there are the politicians, local and national, who take money from gun manufacturers and the NRA, and refuse any discussion about what is nowadays called common sense gun control. Their slogan is that the only thing that can stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun. What a complete and utter bullshit!

That is a great example of what we will call circular marketing. First sell a gun to “the bad guy”, then tell others that they need guns to protect themselves from that “bad guy”.  The best word to describe this practice is CORRUPT. Corrupt gun manufacturers, the corrupt NRA, and the corrupt politicians who value campaign contributions over life, and who so many of you morons keep voting for.

Corrupt. The kind of blatant corruption that many Americans associate with third world countries. It’s right here in the USA.

Shame on all of you who continue to support those idiots.

We will go deeper into the subject of gun control in the next post. We will talk about the ridiculousness of the hunting argument. Hunting is fine, but do you need an AR15 for it? Are you that bad a shot?

After the killing of Tyre Nichols some crazy punters on various news channels seem to be suggesting that if his death results in reforms at the Memphis police department, his death should not be in vain. This comes from folks like Senator Tim Scott, NAACP Memphis President Van Turner, and a number of others.

Are they freaking kidding us? Do they mean to tell us that it might take Tyre’s death to reform policing? Do they want to tell the parents of this poor young man that his death serves a purpose?

Where do CNN, MSNBC and other news broadcasts find these so-called experts spouting this crap? Would they be saying the same thing if it were their own child or grandchild?

I expect idiotic statements from FOX. They are such a joke, so committed to their racist agenda and obscuring the truth, that they cannot be considered a news network. An example is Fox News host Jesse Watters, who said he didn’t see any “death blows” in the damning body-cam footage of the fatal beating of Tyre Nichols, but seeing these idiot commentators and officials on the other channels repeatedly spouting their obscene remarks, hour after hour, on CNN, MSNBC, and major news broadcasts, shows that these companies are no longer committed to their original mission of reporting the news. They are instead much more interested in ratings and sensationalist spouting of opinions.

By saying over and over again that the death of Tyre Nichols may “not be in vain” they are no different than Fox. They are just spouting obscene opinions. I guess the concept of a news network no longer exists in this country. CNN, Cable News Network, should be renamed to Cable Opinions Network…. CON!!

Lindsey has the honor of being first up, for lying, and selling your soul for personal benefit. Let’s start with a bit of Lindsey’s recent history.

On the very day that the former host of The Apprentice announced his candidacy for the 2016 election we were all shocked by his racist statements. During the 2016 campaign the other candidates in the race, including Lyndsey, rightly condemned many of his lies and racist statements. They were all very outspoken about it. For instance, during an interview (Sep 29, 2020) Lindsey said: “Trump is a race baiting, xenophobic religious bigot. Biden is as good a man as God ever created.”

In those days Lindsey tried very hard to present himself as an acceptably “close to moderate” Republican. Granted though, that view of Lindsey was greatly helped by his close friendship with Senator McCain. Lindsey basked in the glow of McCain’s reflected respectability and common decency, but not too long after the passing of senator McCain, when the gameshow host had become The Occupant of the White House, we saw Lindsey, and ever more of his Republican colleagues, contracting a particularly aggressive case of a disease commonly known as Dissolving Spine Syndrome (DSS).

Symptoms of DSS include a severe weakening of the spine, and the inability (or unwillingness) to stand up for formerly professed principles. Slowly but surely, Lindsey buddied up to the “race baiting, xenophobic religious bigot”, and all his formerly seemingly vehement objections to the character of this man disappeared as if they never existed.

It is unclear what caused Lindsey’s DSS. Could it be that DSS simply brought out his real, sleazy, unprincipled, power-hungry self? Could it be that the Republican voters in South Carolina by a large majority support The Occupant, and Lindsey’s job would be at risk at the next election if he did not also become as much of a race baiting, xenophobic religious bigot as his voters must be? Could Lindsey Graham be that shallow, calculated and brazenly mentally corrupt?

Our verdict: Yes, to all of the above! Shame on you Lindsey, you are nothing but a political whore, interested only in your own career, and not at all in the people you swore to represent!
