Rudy Giuliani was right! That is not something we expected to say ever! But there it is. What was he right about? His infamous statement that “Truth Isn’t Truth.” It took us a while to arrive at the conclusion he was right, and it took us even longer to admit it.

But once we got past our initial reaction that it was a stupid statement to make, we started thinking about it and we realized that there could indeed be two versions of Truth. There is the Objective Truth, and then there is such a thing as a ‘Personal’ Truth.

For instance… The awful Sandy Hook shooting was a real thing. That is the Objective Truth. But then that moron Alec Jones started saying that it was not true at all, that it was all a lie. That everyone involved was an actor. He kept spouting that garbage repeatedly. Over and over again for months. We will come back to that calculating crook in a separate post a bit later.

As Jones kept repeating that idiotic conspiracy theory there were more and more gullible (read stupid and hateful) people who started believing him. With terrible consequences for the victim’s parents and family members. Convinced by the constant drumbeat from Jones it became their Personal Truth. They started threatening those poor parents. Protesting outside their homes, even threatening their lives, making those poor folks’ lives even more miserable, and forcing some to have to move to escape the danger.

This made us realize that Giuliani wasn’t the only one who was right. So was Forest Gump …. Stupid Is As Stupid Does!

Another example of this phenomenon is the “Big Lie” by the former reality show host, and his self-serving acolytes in the Republican Party, that the election was rigged and a fraud.

That was of course NOT an Objective Truth. Many dozens of failed lawsuits and a high profile ‘fraudit’ proved this. But the sheer constant drumbeat of lies from the man himself, and from all those obscenely crooked politicians, eventually convinced many people that it was true.

It became their Personal Truth. Further convinced by the QAnon crowd, and more then a few white supremacist movements like the Proud Boys, they were eventually driven to attempt to overthrow the government on January the 6th . They became so thoroughly convinced that they were even willing to go after one of their own by wanting to hang poor spineless Mike Pence.

Like we said, Stupid Is As Stupid Does!

Then there are the obviously untrue and crazy statements from people like Marjorie Taylor Green who said Jewish space lasers were deliberately setting the fires in California. Even that idiotic crap got followers! And what about *ucker Carlson’s replacement theory? His constant mentioning of that racist BS got hundreds of thousands white suburban folks to believe and fear it.

The result of all this is that we have a very divided country. The mostly racist divisions are so extreme that violence has dramatically increased. School shootings, attacks on Synagogues, on LGBTQ bars, tiki torch marches with slogans like “Jews will not replace us”, shootings in mostly black or Hispanic supermarkets.

This Blog is called Shame Or Blame, so who do we shame or blame for the current state of affairs?

The Shame must be for all those people who have started believing all these lies. They let their inner racist, which they mostly kept suppressed until now, come out. They now believe white supremacy is acceptable.

The Blame for all this goes to those unscrupulous crooks who prey on people’s insecurities. The likes of Alex Jones, FOX News with *ucker Carlson, Marjorie Taylor Green, Louie Gohmert, Lauren Bobert, Jim Jordan, Matt Gaetz, Kevin McCarthy, the former reality TV show host, and many others.

They all know their statements are lies, but they are solely motivated by the pursuit of money and power (voters and followers) regardless of the consequences and cost. Disgusting individuals!
